Open Baptists is a new movement of Baptist churches in Australia and New Zealand, open to the diversity of people God gathers into our churches and open to the diversity of ways that God calls us to respond in our local contexts. Our 2026 conference will be a live-in event and include a dedication service for the first group of pastors accredited by the Open Baptists Committee for Ministry. Our conference is based on the Open Space Technology method where conference participants bring their own questions and ideas for group discussion, as we explore the question:
HOW DO WE, AS OPEN BAPTISTS, EXPLORE, AND COURAGEOUSLY AND GENEROUSLY SHARE LIFE LIVED TO THE FULL?

As part of our Lenten observances, we spend the day in guided prayer and reflection. The day will consist of two session, each following the same pattern, where people scatter and spend some time reflecting on some of the Lenten scripture texts before regathering to share the fruits of their reflections in a listening circle. It is intended that it will be possible to participate either physically gathered or by connecting online.
