An outing to Dights falls on the Merri Creek for a picnic lunch and a walk to visit the site of the Merri Creek Aboriginal School which was set up by the Baptists and operated from 1845 – 1851. Information about the school can be found here and here.
We will be meeting at 12 noon at the Dights Falls picnic area. Jen & Rob have generously offered to provide a cold light lunch (so long as you have told them you’re coming!) plus milk and sugar for tea/coffee, for everyone. Please bring your own drinks, including tea or coffee in a thermos, plus any special dietary requirements.
The walk from the picnic area to the monument that marks the site of the school is only about 200 metres.
